Welcome to BioPhysVertex the professional website of Jonathon Daniel Barrett Ferrell. The name was chosen specifically to highlight my interests in biology (Bio), physics (Phys), and math (Vertex). I also have an interest in computer science for which vertex could also represent. The point of this website is to grow with me professionally and also demonstrate my professional interests to others through blog posts. Who I am Currently
I am a recently defended computational biophysicist, who has been doing some contract work in programming. My dissertation work has me delving into machine learning, high performance computing as well as liberally applying my extensive biochemical and physics knowledge. My contract work has required me to be flexible patching existing code and writing new code in programming languages which I was unfamiliar with until recently. Utilizing that flexibility as a jack of all is my core strength and something I enjoy doing.
